Salt begins work on setting up US and Australian branches

Salt has begun drawing up plans to set up editorial offices in the USA and Australia. The move is seen as a significant development for the literary business which grew by 68% last year.

“Our historical beginnings lie in Western Australia with poet, John Kinsella, it?s time to build on our recent success and take the business to a new level,” said Chris Hamilton-Emery. “We’ve now spent six years building the business up in the UK, and it’s now time to cement Salt’s international status with operations in the USA and Australia. These countries are our primary markets and over the next five years we need to consolidate our work there, drawing together teams to push forward domestic publishing programmes. We’re going for growth, and now intend to double the size of the business.”
