  • A new world of poetry and short stories can never be a bad thing.

What a fabulous plan. I’d definitely like to be involved!

  • Sounds a great idea but I have a feeling my ‘local’ cellar will be a bit far from mr here in Trawsfynydd.
I’m already rep for a poetry society stanza I started here and that is a nightmare as we are all too far apart and separated by mountains.

  • Sounds as perfect a metaphor for poetry and its audience as I’ve come across. Thanks Daffni and I completely understand those difficulties.

    Hi

Yes I’m interested, Chris, both in NEWBURY (Nr Reading) but also (possibly) in North Wales

I have Capel Cader Idris (Capel Bethel) LLWYNGWRIL, Gwynedd LL37 2JU

Not too far from Trawsfynydd, Daffni. I used to own three chalets at Bronaber
and we held quite a few writing courses there, We sold those, bought the chapel
in Llwyngwril, renovated it. Already held courses there and let it for a week-long retreat.

  • I can vouch for the chapel, chaps. I rented it for a week and took a group of six writers for a retreat. We all worked well and the place is comfy, well equipped and inspiringly situated. Perfect for Salt workshops or whatever.
    .
I’m in Sussex – there seem to be a squillion writing workshops around here, so there’s obviously a market. But when you dig, you find that those who are running them often have very little proven experience in either writing or in teaching experience.

Count me in with the proviso that I’m also teaching at Stockholm Uni next term (using the Salt Guide to the Art of the Short Story, natch!) so time to be the organising force is limited.

Like Daffni I already belong to a local Stanza -although unlike Daffni I don’t live in Trawsfynydd. I do remember going through it on my way to Snowdonia once.

Always room for another group though if there’s anything happening in my area I’d be interested.
