I’m grateful to Rob A. Mackenzie for his note on bookselling in Scotland:

I want to explore this in more general terms. Salt has a high quality literature list of poetry, short stories and literary fiction, which is complemented by literary criticism, literary companions, biography, gift books and writers’ guides. This year we are launching our new children’s poetry list.
I’m announcing here the appointment of Charlotte Prince as Sales Manager at Salt: she will now be leading on all accounts in the Europe and the USA.
Alexa Burnell is responsible for Australia and New Zealand.
DO YOU KNOW A BOOKSTORE THAT SUITS SALT?
If you know of a bookstore which would be interested in selling Salt’s titles, which specialises in arts lists, please let Charlotte know. If would like to help us make contact with your local bookstore, we’d welcome your support. We can provide you (and the bookseller) with a catalogue, in print or electronic and our contact details are below. We’d love you to help us find leads. We’d welcome your support.
BOOKSELLERS
We’d like to hear from booksellers and those working in the book trade about how we can improve our sales by working more closely and effectively with you. If you would like to know more and can help us develop our business, we’d like to hear from you. You can reach Charlotte any day of the week. We’ll be in touch within 24 hours.
LIBRARY SUPPLY
Salt’s sales to libraries in the US and UK have increased dramatically over recent years, but we know that we can improve our sales. If you work in library supply and believe Salt could become an important part of your list, please contact us.
All sales queries can be sent to Charlotte.

Wenlock Books in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, is fantastic. It’s run by Anna Dreda, who organises all sorts of great events for her customers, including readings and discussion groups at a local deli: it’s one of my very favourite bookshops. I can imagine your books doing well there.
